Hearty Humus


Preparation Time: 5 minutes


Humus is a healthy mix of ground chickpeas and ground sesame seeds (tahini), mixed with a little garlic and some spices. Sesame seeds are high in protein and polyunsaturated fatty acids and contain a high percentage of vitamin B. Humus is not only highly nutritious, but it's also a delicious dipping partner for our pitas.


1 can chickpeas (540ml)
4 tablespoons lemon juice
2 small garlic cloves
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ cup tahini (approx. 4 tablespoons)
½ cup water
3 tablespoons olive oil


Strain the canned chickpeas and blend them in a food processor. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and mix well for about two minutes. Refrigerate for four hours or more. Adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve with your favourite Pita Break Pita or try it with one of our Lavash crackers.
